Will chemically straightening my hair help my hair seem less oily / greasy?

I have very oily hair. I have to wash my hair every day and sometimes it's greasy in less than 24 hours. I used to put a curly perm in my hair when I was young, and it actually helped it stay clean, and I would only have to wash it every other day until it grew out after a few months. Will a relaxer / straightener have the same effect and help to make it appear less oily? I was wondering if the chemicals temporarily damage the oil glands or is it the damage to the hair shaft that makes it hide oil or is it something else? Thank you for your answers.

yes it does damage the cuticle which contains naturaL OIL

that means your hair will be lack of natural oil. ur hair wont get greasy easily as before.

if u are using conditioner, stop using those with OIL (read the ingredients) eg avacado oil etc

actually, washing your hair every day is bad. every other day is recommended, because everytime you wash it, it activates the oils in your hair and when you wash the shampoo out, it washes the oils you need out too. so you have less oils.. and hair NEEDS oil. i know it's gross, but a LOT of people at my school do it. you can get it wet but just don't put shampoo or conditioner in it..

another thing.. if you DO use conditioner, i suggest stop using it totally. because it makes your hair greasy fast. i don't use conditioner and it don't get greasy til like 2 days after i take a shower.
