I have SEVERLY damaged hair after chemically straightening it...any suggestions on how to restore? T

Cut your hair.... or wait until it grows out a bit (which takes a while) and then cut the part the relaxer is still on. That's how i did it. I cut it really short (up to my ears) and now (3 years later) my hair is long and healthy. I won't ever try that again. Good luck.

DEEP conditioning and protein treatments.

Use a ph-balanced shampoo and conditioner. (Otherwise your hair may fall out.)

Try a restorative conditioner- like St. Ives.

I use a special hair lotion that keeps you hair from getting dry and frizzy. You can get it at Target. It works great.

Well, you used a relaxer.... very common to see severe damage when one is used improperly. Well, the only way to get rid of damage is to CUT it off...

But if you've damaged the enitre hair shaft (root to tip), then i suggest growing out the relaxer until its at a decent length and cutting at the line of demarcation..... then, when your natural hair is long enough, just get the chemical process again from a professional this time... But honestly, (i dont know if you have before) but never do that process at home....

One way you can restore it is heavy condition it and keep regular trims. Products with jojoba oil can mend split ends and hair masks are great too.... Good luck!!

ok, you may not want to do this, but it may be the best thing. you need to go to a professional stylist and have your damaged hair cut off. he or she can do it correctly, see your hair and tell you what is best to get you back on track. just let the damaged hair go, who knows, you may end up loving that great little short, sexy cut! otherwise, use as little heat as possible on your head and ALWAYS condition your hair after every shampoo to lock in the moisture that all of our hair needs to grow and thrive. Good luck!

Use a good conditioner. Leave in cond. are good . let the cond. sit on your hair while you are under the dryer. it penetrates deaper into the scalp. conditioning treatments by Biolage are good for dry, damaged hair. Good luck.!

My mom used to massage a beaten egg into my hair ...I guess the protein is good for your hair...makes your hair very shiny but it's slimy.....so rinse well. Also olive oil works wonders.Leave it on over night with a shower cap on.Your hair will look oily,so wash it well.

You may need to cut the damaged part off and start a good conditioning regimen.
