I have naturally wavey hair and I was wondering if I could get a straightening perm on it without totally frying it.

There is a process called thermal straightening. It uses chemicals along with an iron to get hair really straight. It can be damaging though. Go to a good salon and get a consultation. It should not be used on damaged hair.

If you are referring to a "relaxer" I think that you should check with a stylist first. I do know that a lot of my hispanic friends use relaxers on their hair and it works fine for them.

it would fry it and your hair would fall out...how do i know? i used one and i am white and my hair just fell off about half way up the hair strand...their is a solution from Joico salons called EFX its for white people its a theo gel..that would loosen ur curl possibly make ur hair straight and it would NOT fall out....i am in school for cosmetology at a Joico salon

probably not but there has this thing called the YUKO straightening system that keeps your hair straight for like a year but it's expensive and doesn't work on afro hair but it works well on all other hair check out this site it explains it better than i can
