I want to make my hair straight, but with the minimal amount of damage

If you buy a heat activaed shampoo conditoner and spray, it won't damage your hair. Straighten it only. Also don't straighten hair while wet, it will damage your hair so badly.

Deep condition once a week to restore moisture.

if you are going to straighten your hair DO NOT also blow dry it... it will make more damage doing both

i think straightening hair is really worse then blowdrying...I wouldn't recommend straightening your hair...it damages your hair strength.I blowdry my hair though...

straightening your hair with a flat iron will definately give you a great look but it will TOTALLY fry your hair, blowdrying does minimal damage and you look great afterword.

They are both pretty damaging yet I think that straightening is worse but yet more affective. Straightening can burn your ends pretty badly. Blowdrying can cause hair breakage. So I think you should go with blowdrying if you want a less damaging effect. Yet go with straightening if you want your hair to last a little longer/ look nicer, but face the consequences.

Both are a form of chemicals to your hair even though they aren't chemicals. you should first dry your hair in larger curlers under a hood dryer and make sure it is completely dry then straighten it. I don't know why this works but that's what my stylist does and I haven't had breakage in two years. I use to have breakage all the time.

Both are bad....but why don't you just let your hair dry naturally, combing it straight every 2 hours or so. Then straighten your hair. I do it and it totally works. Its like I get the blow drying effect without all the damage.

Bloe drying is more damaging, try sitting under a dryer with rollers and then flat ironing but when ever you use heat you should use a leave in conditioner and a heat protector, and your flat iron should be ceramic. i use the prosilk digital ceramic flat iron along with the prosilk silk Serum

Ive heard that blowdrying is not bad but if youre going to straighten it, dont straighten it over and over again because it can ruin your hair :P

i think straightening is worse. i suggest you let your hair air dry for a while then comb it out with a large tooth comb and then hood dryer. if needed you can either blow dry or straighten it but just choose one. i suggest going to a hairdresser and letting them do your hair. pay attention to what they do and then keep doing it at home
