I have seen blonde hair aboriginals in AUstralia that were natural. Black albinos have blonde hair. Hey racists- Asian people have straight hair. So do Indians which are the ancestors of many blacks. Just a question/thought. I just have heard that everywhere and It is annoying

well pretty much there is only black and white. You are either dark or light skin. Asians, anglos, hispanics, all are white, black black and black people are all black. SO when a black person tries to straighten thier hair, you could take it as trying to have the hair of any of the whites, which are asians, hispanics, anglos, Also painting it blond would be the same idea. But who cares people have the right to do whateer they want to thier hair. No one should judge. Alot of whites are getting corn rolls and its kinda stupid, look at the idiot Justin Timberlake or the gay on from backstreet boys, they try to be all black, and everyone judges them too. People will always talk even though they shouldnt. They like to keep people where they are suppose to be and its wrong.

I am afraid that idea came from African Americans themselves. In the 40's, 50's the black artists started conching or straightening their hair to look like the white singers and to give themselves more of a crossover appeal to the white audience. There were a lot of groups that took offense to the idea because they felt that we should not want to emulate someone that oppresses us. I personally dont have self hatred. i just want to be able to manage my hair better, and everyone does not have the right shaped head for the braided look.

Black hair...no matter where they are from...is kinky. There is so much mixed blood amongst the "aboriginals" that blonde and red hair are to be expected, however they don't choose to do that.

Some people believe that the "european-ization" of the Blacks of america is the cause for the straighting of their hair and dying their hair blonde.

Now, it's also a regional thing. Down south (I know for a fact) people are color struck. Meaning they prefer a lighter or darker color black over another. My grandmother was like this, I'm dark skinned, and she hardly paid me any attention, But my lighter skinned cousin got most of the attention period. Southerners believed at one time that the lighter the skin and the straighter the hair the higher up you could go in business, relationships, and other stuff. The whole concept of dying my hair blonde is ridiculous in my book...some blacks JUST DON'T NEED IT!!! But I have dyed my hair fire red, my light skinned cousin is a blonde, and we both perm (relax) our hair straight. I don't believe her to be anymore white than when I see a white girl with cornrows to be black. It is what it is.

2) Black Albino - this is not a choice to be blonde, it is a genetic condition.

3) You have heard this everywhere and it is annoying..so you repeat it. Than makes no sense.

4) And what if people want to change their hair color...big whoop, it does not meant they want to be white..it means they want a change.

People like to vary the way they look. If I get a perm, it doesn't mean I am trying to be black, it just means I'd like to have curly hair for a while. Why put racial connotations where there are none?

Why do you care so much what some people think? Honestly the people who get on black people's cases about "acting white" are typically black themselves.

I've never heard a white person talk about how black people should limited to a single hairstyle.
