Straightening natural african hair?

is there a written detailed step by step or video tutorial anywhere that shows how to successfully flat iron/blowdry natural african hair? like, with detailed instructions or like a step by step videos with which products to use, how to blow dry it, etc. i want to see if there's an easier routine than the one i use.

Straightening natural african hair?

its really easy, if your using a cheap flat iron thats a big part of the problem. you need to spend 80-100$ for a chi or bed head flat iron. i prefer the bed head one. then get the flat iron and shine spray by tigi (its part of their s factor line) spray your sections before you flat iron and boom! 10 min later your done. profesional flat irons are better for your hair because they close the cuticle as you slide down the hair which keeps it a little healthier and shinier. plus they get hotter than oyour normal flat iron which means that you only have to make one pass on each section. btw...when you spry your hair with this stuff and flat iron you will see it smoke and thats normal. hope this helps.

Wash your hair and part in four parts, blow dry your hair one part at a time, grease and straighten it one part at a time this should make it easier. You could also have your hair permed.

Props to you because I am trying to grow out my perm and go natural = ] Well I suggest a good straightening cream and a good flat iron, which you said you have lol. Only precautions I have for you is that you dont put your flat iron on too high a setting because it is said when you press natural hair a lot and with too much heat it loses it nice thick curly texture and becomes thin and brittle. So try to flat iron on as low a setting as possible. As for steps I'll make an attempt lol.

1) shampoo and condition

2) As for drying you can towel dry which is healthier or you can blow dry which I would be really careful with

3) Take your hair and part section by section layer by layer, etc. work your straigtening cream into it and flat iron on low a setting as possible! You don't wanna burn your hair. But the straightening cream should also have some ingredients in it that protect against heat.

4) Keep going until your hair is done! lol.

Also if you do this somewhere in there oil or grease your scalp so it's not dry.
