What are some great tips to straightening my hair and keeping it straight?

I have a Revlon Ceramic Straightner it works really well, but a couple hours after straighening my hair the ends start to get wavy or "flip out", if you know what I mean. So I would really appriciate it if someone could give me tips to keep my hair straight throughout the day.

Take a shower and wash hair. When you get out of the shower brush your hair straight and apply a nickle size amount of the gel to your hair. When applying, make sure you use wide fingers and try to focus more on the ends. Wrap your hair in the towel until your hair is damp. Brush again.You will want to part your hair in to sections. Take each section and wrap it around the round brush and blow dry with the nozzel pointed down towards the floor. Pull the brush with the blow dryer so that they are both on the same section of hair. Continue with the remaining hair in sections. Once all of your hair is dry, it will still be a bit frizzy or poofy.

You will need to part your hair back into sections. Run the flat iron over each section of hair until all the creases have been ironed out. Remeber to add a little curl to the ends by straightening in a rounded motion from the scalp. Once you have straightened all of your hair, add a little shine serum and you are ready to go!!

you need a straightener that has extra hot heat settings. Cheaper ones that you can buy at walmart do not get hot enough.

before i completely thrashed my hair with scissors and bleach, i had long curly purple hair. i hated it curly..i had to soak it..and blow dry it while brushing it flat...then after it was dry i had to pin up every strand except for the bottom layer and straighten layer by layer. repeat until perfectly straight...also try a relaxer..you can buy one at a drug store i think. i got mine at a salon and it worked..hope you have good straight hair soon.

I would use a CHI flat iron. they work very well. Use a little hairspray after you straighten it too. That might help.

I am bi-racial (white and black) and I have naturally curly hair. Even with a relaxer, my hair would revert...especially when my hair got wet or I sweated too much. Two years ago I paid $100 for a Corioliss Ceramic Flat Iron. I have not relaxed my hair since, and I don't have to blow dry the heck out of it to get it straight. I can go from air dried frizzy afro to perfectly straight with this flat iron.

I use Davine's MOMO/Fluid in my hair after washing/conditioning and let my hair air dry. Make sure your hair is completely dry, then flat iron in small sections...the smaller the better....I usually do this on a Sunday when I have the extra time to give my hair a GOOD straightening.

The other thing that might help is a good haircut. My stylist, who just happens to be white (if that matters at all) has given me an AWESOME cut and "might" touch up my ends every six weeks or so. I wash my hair once a week, but use the flat iron daily....no split ends or damage. She did have me try a thermal protectant....it works, but it builds up too quick so I have to wash more often, which, with my hair texture and coloring, doesn't really work for me.

I bought my iron at a kiosk in the all....I've seen it on e-bay, and I believe they have a website.

i use a revlon ceramic straightner as well...i think it works fine...before you straighten your hair add some hair taming milk serem and a little bit of mousse then straighten it...it keeps my hair straight all day...and i am the kind of person who will pull my hair up and down all day...lol
